Laser Controlled Levelling
Laser levelling uses a transmitter, a receiver, and a land-working machine. A transmitter on a tripod creates a rotating reference plane; a receiver mounted on the grader reads that plane, while a control box directs the hydraulic blade to reproduce the required level or slope on the ground.
Omekom describes self-levelling transmitters supporting horizontal planes or one- and two-axis slopes, with an approximate working radius of 1000 metres. Its receiver and control box support automatic blade adjustment, signal recovery, and disturbance correction. Omekom reports levelling accuracy of approximately ±5 mm for its laser-controlled system.
Satellite Positioning
GPS-based levelling uses satellite positioning and RTK corrections to locate the grader and guide blade height. A mobile receiver on the machine works with a fixed reference receiver, while an in-cab computer processes positioning data and sends commands to the electrohydraulic controls.
This approach supports horizontal surfaces, single or dual slopes, and variable terrain designs prepared in software. During work, it displays cut-and-fill areas, suggests a route, and adjusts the blade while updating progress. Work time depends on soil volume, transport distance, soil texture, and moisture.
